Kids’ Choice Awards 2020
The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards (KCA) is an esteemed annual event hosted by the Nickelodeon network. Celebrated for honoring outstanding achievements in television, film, and music, as determined by Nickelodeon viewers globally, the KCA is distinctive for its interactive format and the iconic sliming of celebrities.
This project focuses on the year 2020 award season to be hosted by Chance the Rapper, which never aired as originally advertised, due to the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic that year.

COMPOSITING Process
The scenes featuring Chance composited in the background and the Nick blimp were all done in Nuke X, I divided the scenes in backdrop nodes to know which scene.
ANIMATION Process
AFTER EFFECTS
After I exported all the scenes from Nuke X as an EXR file, I put imported the files into Adobe After Effects doing all the post production work. Incorporating the icons, accents, bumper cards, and logos from the Nick assets to make the new ID.
A fun idea came to my mind was including a character made up of Nick’s icons, emoji, and accents from the assets to dance to the music with Chance the Rapper. This was easily achieved by animating the parts in After Effects.
VISUAL BREAKDOWN REELS
Here’s few visual breakdowns of the countdown with foot contact, the Nickelodeon blimp slime, and the “Nick” logo at the end.
